Nvidia Shadowplay desktop Capture problem

It's not the issue that I cannot check Desktop capture. It's checked alright and I cannot record my desktop. I press Alt-f9 and nothing happens. I even tried holding ALT-f9 and there is no use.

Is there any other way to resolve this besides reinstalling Shadowplay

I am using manual recording and if you see that gray square with a dot in the settings picture were it has a diagram of the monitor.

 

It's supposed to show that square with the gray dot on the bottom right corner and I didn't see it.

I have to wonder why you even need to... it seems you have a way to capture your desktop anyway!

I don't want to use Camtasia or Mirilis because Shadowplay has recorded my desktop really well. These two recorders also cost extra money.

You can use OBS Studio, which is also free, and can use the hardware encoder.

 

I haven't ever used Shadowplay myself, is there a manual record button you could use?

looks like you don't have shadow play turned on, click the shadow play button in GFE and make sure its on. if its on there should be an icon overlay on your desktop to indicate recording on/off.
