I'm sorry to bump this thread but I really need some advice as I am going to get these items very soon (I am deeply sorry if I may sound arrogant but I have no idea who else to ask). Thank you again.

The parts that you chose are fine.

Hello, I'm not really experienced in picking parts for PC. I have a $600(AUD) budget to upgrade my current computer. Can you guys help me a little and see what could be improved?

What I currently have:
CPU: G1620 (Some cheap celeron CPU)

Video Card: MSI GTX 670

PSU: AntecVP 600P (600 Watts)

Memory: Generic 8Gb of DDR 3

Mobo: No idea

What I am going to get:

CPU: i5 6500

Mobo: MSI B150M Bazooka

Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB

Memory: Kingston 2133 (2X4GB) DDR4

Since this is a LGA 1155 board get a i5 4460 and save yourself from the funds for the RAM and board. Maybe even get a new graphic card from the money you saved.

I have no idea if there are different generations of this product but the one I am referring to is LGA 1151. The main reason I am doing these upgrades is because it is agonising to play games with such a weak CPU :P

Try to look for a used i5 3*** or get the new skylake if you want more CPU power

Isn't i5 6500 a skylake? and I would rather stay with new products as I'm planning to use this for 6 years or so. Though thanks for the input, I might look into it. Thanks again.

Yes, it's faster and newer but substantially pricer. The i5 3****s won't bottle necked a 670, but its fine to get the skylake if you are planning a GPU upgrade soon.
