Hey

I am posting a topic here in regards to my performance in games when compared to my friends.

Currently the system I have consists of the

Intel core i5 6400 CPU

GTX 970 Zotac reference card (blower design)

and 8gb of RAM.

i am getting lower fps in games when compared to other people for example in the game SMITE I am getting between 70-80 fps. (I am playing on the highest settings and in the games I am playing the fps limit and vsync and alike is all turned off, so fps is unlimited)

so so while I get 70-80 fps in SMITE, my friend with a GTX 960 from Gigabyte, is getting 90-120 fps with the same settings as me.

This is also applies to the game OVERWATCH, I have around 80-90 fps whilst he has 100-120.

His is computer consists of

Gtx 960 gigabyte

Intel core i7 4770

so so my question is why is there such a huge fps difference? I thought I messed up my installation of drivers or something so I even reset Windows but yeah...

Main the witcher 3 I am getting like 45-55 fps in ultra settings.

I am am playing on a 24inch 1080p display with 60hz

so so my question is am I doing something wrong? Or is his CPU just that stronger than my own?

Thanks for for reading and commenting

Well his cpu is stronger but I doubt the difference would be noticeable especially for gaming, could be a different driver or driver OS related issues, what OS do you have/he has, and do you and he use the same driver version number?

My gpu temp caps at 80c and does not go higher, although in some games like league of legends it stays around 55 or so. I am using Windows 10 whilst he is using Windows 7. Also I updated to the latest drivers using GeForce experience... Last time I checked my cousin temp... It was around 65-70 c whilst playing the witcher.

His CPU (the 4770) is clocked at 3.4 to 3.9 GHz while your CPU (the 6400) is clocked at 2.7 to 3.3 GHz

So his has a single core clock speed advantage. That's probably it.

On one hand, anything over 60 FPS is pretty much as high as you need, since your monitor can only display 60 FPS. On the other hand, he's 'winning' so I see where you're coming from ;)
