NVIDIA GPU acting up...

Go to solution Solved by upliftsleet1974,

While watching a video on youtube, my windows color scheme went to basic. To find out why, I looked at my performance-monitoring widgets. My processor seemed normal but my gpu was ramping up to 100% usage and back down to 1 or 2 percent. I closed all programs and it continued until i restarted.

Specs:

Core i7 4770k

8GB DDR3 RAM

Gigabyte Z87-HD3 MoBo

600w PSU

NVIDIA GTX 660 (EVGA superclocked 2GB)

It just did it again to me I think it is drivers....

Potentially a infection on the PC causing random spikes. Run a scan or two.

Have you done any overclocking to your GPU? Could be a bad OC.

Disable hardware acceleration by right clicking on a Youtube video > Settings > Uncheck it on first tab.

Install the latest STABLE drivers. Don't use the beta version.
