Ok so I recently followed someones advice to try out dxtory. I downloaded it then tried out JackFrag's tutorial on setting it up. I downloaded the matrox codec and followed THE EXACT SETTINGS that he said to follow. I tried recording in 1080p60 (in csgo and overwatch) and all I got was a 30 fps pin in csgo. I have my csgo settings turned all the way down with multicore rendering off. I updated to the new version and tried it out again, it didn't work. I record in 1080p60 on Mirillis Action and it works fine. When I tried on the new version on overwatch, it didn't pin to 30fps, but it did incur a MASSIVE frame drop with a little icon.

(!)GPU

That's basically what the icon was.

The specs of my pc are in my signature, but for anyone lazy enough not to look, here are the specs:

A10-6800K

Asus A78M-A

Team Zeus Blue 8GB (2 x 4gb dimms)

XFX Double Dissipation R9 390

PLEASE HALP!!

Does DXtory support hardware encoding? If so, turn that on.

Otherwise, OBS Studio is your best bet.

I have no clue, but there is an option to force cpu processing

Oh, also, are you recording to an SSD or HDD? You should use the fastest drive you've got, even if you end up moving the clips to store on your HDD later.

Honestly, 720p60fps is fine for Youtube or Twitch (though you're recording to your computer not streaming, of course)

Again, try OBS Studio because I know that supports hardware encoding (that is, GPU encoding), which should fix the issue (I believe your CPU is having trouble keeping up)

Yes, but how is it having trouble keeping up, if I can record csgo in 1080p60fps on mirillis action. I'm having an issue where the speeds of my ssd, are the same as my hdd...

With mirillis action, I use GPU assisted encoding. NOTE: I need multiple audio layers and therefore can't use obs

OBS Studio supports up to 4 different audio tracks

That could be the issue, that your drive is slow.

CSGO isn't as visually complex as other games, therefore requires less speed to record

I have tried recording from 720p30 to 1080p60. It sat at the same fps on csgo. This should not happen considering that I can record 1080p60 using mirillis action.

Also, please note:

I am not using OBS Studio. I don't like it and how difficult it is to set it up. Worst come to the worst, I don't use Dxtory and just go back to mirillis action

OK, just try it to see if you've got the same issue. If you do, well it's hardware related.

If not, its just DXtory

I don't think I would because Action has AMDvce and so does obs now...it's just a real pain to set it up, especially when you go from the regular mode to the advanced mode
