Hello tommorow i will get my hands on Scarlett Solo interface + SM58 microphone, so simple as that:

> Can you recommend me any good sound recording software?

> Is there any difference beetween them?

> Can software improve your sound by just recording over it without editing the sound?

I am pure amateur for first time in my life i will have pro mic and interface, keep things simple.

Thank you in advance!

Audacity is free and includes all the basics, like multi-track recording and editing, cutting and moving clips, changing volume, and a whole host of processing effects.

Adobe Audition brings some more power to the table, but at a price.

No software can technically/objectively improve the quality of a recording, but you can do things to clean it up like correct pitch, remove noise, apply EQ, etc.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Audacity is a great tool to start with. And it is free.

I would not suggest you to use Adobe Audition because it is a way too expensive for what it offers. What I would like to recommend is a great tool which is a major step up from Audacity named Reaper. For only $60 you have a tool which can easily compete with big players like Cubase and Pro Tools. Since reaper has support for VST plugins you can find tons of free ones to put any effect that you like. Also bundled effect plugins are also nice even for some serious work not just for beginners.
