hi, guys ive been having this thing happening sometimes, one time i turned my pc off and when i turn it on again like 4 hours later, everything was like if i never turned off in the first place, another time we had a black out and when the power went bakc, the same thing, everything was exactly as i left it; but this only happens sometimes, so i was wondering what this is and if i can do it at will

 

P.S: am i dumb?

Hitting the shutdown icon doesn't mean it will turn off.

 

This can be changed in your PC's settings, you can make the default action to hibernate, which is what is occurring.

Same thing applies to hitting the physical power button on your desktop/laptop

Moved to troubleshooting.

Also it does sound like you are hibernating it.

If it was hibernated and the power was pulled, sure.  If you pull it while it's running then no way.
