For some reason my PC refuses to let me set the intellimouse 3.0 to 500/1000hz even though I have used all the proper tools, following their directions exactly.

Also my local drive is D: not C:, even if I change the paths I can manually, would this cause an issue?
Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
ASRock B75 Pro-3M
Intel Xeon E3-1231v3
