Wireless controller for steam link

Hey so i am thinking of getting a steam link. My question is do i need a wireless dongle to use a wireless controller? I dont see much info on it so i was wondering if anybody has any experiance with it

Personally i use a wired XBox 360 controller with mine,

Wireless 360 controllers work with the wireless xbox controller adapter for windows

Xbox one controller don't work wirelessly even with the windows wireless xbox one adapter (Issue with the steam link running linux), however it does work wired.

There are reports of getting PS4 controllers to work wirelessly with the in built bluetooth (I haven't tested it) but it is confirmed working wired.

And steam controllers work wirelessly with the included USB adapter or via a usb cable.

 

TL:DR - Get a wireless xbox 360 controller kit for windows if you want to use a wireless controller on the steam link.

I vote for the steam controller! mainly because it is on sale along with the steam link. I have one and love it. The customization is awesome. Although it is different and takes time getting used to. But hey steam link? why not a steam controller to go with it?

Sony Dualshock 3 or Dualshock 4 + bluetooth dongle.

It's pretty easy to set 'em up with Nefarius software, the SCPToolkit, and it works great.
