Hi there

So, I have the following laptop Sony Vaio SVE1712W1EB.

- I added a 500gb 850 evo SSD.

- 16GB Ram

- Wifi AC Adapter

- New 1080p screen(Cause my cat jumped on top of it and the old one broke)

Now this laptop is extremely fast and I still like it but it seems to be overheating from time to time I assume it's both the CPU & GPU.

Even the VGA port is bend due to the heat I assume(I'll add a picture soon)

Now I'd like to reapply CPU & GPU thermal paste, but I'd like to know if this is a good idea in a laptop since I've never done this before.

I changed all the components myself and I've build my own PC.

Now I haave the following questions:

- Should I do it?
- If I do it which thermal paste should I use?

- Any tips when doing it?

- Any other feedback is welcome.

Try to clean fan and heatsink before you change thermalpaste.

If cleaning doesnt change anythink, then reapply a good thermal paste is a good idea.

For a thermalpaste, find a good thermal resistance and anti electric short for safety use.

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks, I've already cleaned out my entire laptop. And the thermal paste is the last resort :P
