MS windows holographic OS is coming to third party hardware.

At the Computex tradeshow, Microsoft has announced that its Windows 10 powered holographic OS is coming to third party hardware such as VR, AR and mixed reality headsets

Here it can be seen running on a HTC Vive (although the entire thing seems to be a overly exaggeration of what the tech is capable.) simulating a meting were the actual people were off site, a traveling virtual assistant, and on the go speech translation.

 

Microsoft has also announced a bunch of partners making hardware for Windows holographic: Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, HTC, Acer, ASUS, CyberPowerPC, Dell, Falcon Northwest, HP, iBuyPower, Lenovo, and MSI.

 

Its damn obvious that after failing the massive boat that mobile has become, MS isn't going to pass the next computing platform for the masses which right now seems to be VR and AR and is now positioning itself as a straight competitor to Google Daydream as another gate to power VR and AR applications although it has the big difference that it will be running on dedicated hardware compared to a phone. Also more powerful hardware to given the HTC Vive requires a PC to run.

 

Gear up boys the VR wars is getting another contestant and is a big one.
