Looks to me like it just does a "set affinity" on all the background stuff... xD

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Oh man, this is some advanced stuff!

Its not like 95% of the processes running in a background consume virtually 0 cpu usage. And the rare few that do, do so for good reason. You can also accomplish what this program does, by simply opening task manager and right clicking on things using too much cpu, and selecting "set afinity; x". But hey, its a 20$ program to do what you can do yourself in less than a few seconds.

Also... cpu cores don't work that way really. Even as we saw in LTT's hyperthreading video, it turns out that as a core is utilized and starts to get more calls than it can handle, it moves those calls to another thread. Making this program, virtually useless. I'll be seriously surprised if it actually makes a difference.

$21.99 CAD for a gimmick. If you really need to limit core usage you can use set affinity in the task manager. But this is mostly useless as the OS kernel already handles process thread distribution for you. The only use I can think of is for really old games and applications that can't handle a multicore environment.

If i start playing with this is there a way to reset all of them to default?

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

There is a check box for set use for all cores for set affinity. You just have to remember which applications you messed with. Or you could also restart your comp.

If restarting resets this then i will probably go have a play with it.
