Hi all,

I just recently updated my GPU when running windows 10, after 1/3 way through the update the screen when black and stayed that way. After waiting about 1hr or so. I gave up and went into safe mode and rolled back the drivers but still did not work. I though that it was just windows 10. So I installed windows 8.1 and tried but still a black screen. The gpu works but not does show anything after windows logo. Right now im using the motherboard hdmi port. All the fans on Gpu run well. I think its just a software problem.

My PC

GTX970 windforce 4gb GPU.
i7 4790k cpu.
16gb ram, Corsair I think.
2tb HDD.
256 SSD.
750W PSU.
Gigabyte z97 mobo.

HELP :)

Software problem should be gone as soon as you reinstall windows, so I'm thinking it's more of a hardware problem now. You can check this by trying this GPU on a different computer, and then try a different GPU on your current computer.

Yeah I might check it on a friends computer and see if it works like that. Its when I install the GPU drivers and then the black screen appears.

sounds like your GPU is dead. Try taking it out and using the on board graphics and see if that helps. IF it dose you need a new GPU. If you don't have on-board graphics borrow a GPU from a friend.

yeah the on board graphics works. Think the GPU is dead.
