So today, I decided I wanted to get back into my good ol' game of Spore. I've had this game work on three notebooks in the past, two of them with Vista and the third with Windows 7.

However, after I installed it on my current computer (see my description of components on my profile if you're curious), I got an 8016 error code. I Googled for a bit, trying to find a solution. But, a few problems arose:

1) Pretty much everyone had the problem on Windows 10, which doesn't help me when I'm running 8.

2) Many told about errors with SecuROM, but I cannot seem to find such a program/app/whatever on my system.

3) The problem has been reported to have happened on GTA V, though that never happened to me.

Does anyone have suggestions for a solution? I installed the game on my E: drive, if that's any helpful, though I have all my games on there because it's the storage drive (games, video software etc.)
