Is my tablet just crap?

So i have this cheap tablet and i get notifications when im using it and stuff but if i leave it without using for like 1 hour it like goes in a sleep mode or something and i dont get notifications anymore untill i unblock it and start using it again. Is this an option or is this just the tablet's default mode or something and is unevitable.
If u want the tablet model im afraid i cannot find them since its like a chinese tablet or something and i couldnt find them anywhere online

if it's an android tablet, it's probably just a power setting feature within the wifi settings

go to settings --> wifi --> advanced --> keep wifi on during sleep: always

 

and you should be good to go
