custom design gpu

I want to buy a gtx 1080 but there a a lot of custom designs from asus msi ... 

but Gainward have cards that are a bit cheaper compaired to a card from evga.

Is there a real difference ?

Buy the cheapest version of GTX 1080 with FE PCB, put waterblock on it and problem solved

 

That's what I will do  

Won't be waiting another 2 months for custom PCB with 2x8pin that wouldn't bring any additional performance.

Also waterblock is a must for me, so again I would have to wait some time before EKWB release new waterblock for custom PCB designs.

A nother question, 

There is a  EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 card and the same one in a overclocked version, 

is there a difference and couldn't I just overclock the non oc version it myself ?

Card that you mentioned have same PCB as founders edition.

So water block from EKWB will fit on it.

 

And yeah you could get any other normal PCB and overclock it.

But it will depend on your luck, how much you can OC it. If you have bad luck, you might get GPU that won't go over 1800MHz
