I've come to the realization that I'm trying to get an Asus MG279Q or an Acer XF270HU. Those are both around the price of a brand new 1080! However, I'm currently stuck with a 1366x768 television... what do I choose?

Get a new display first. You can also get a cheaper display + a cheaper graphics card instead of getting one and not the other.

Don't bother with a 1080 if you're running some tiny display like that - it would be a waste.

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I realize a high-end card like a 1080 would be silly on a resolution that low, but I could be patient and wait to get a display for it afterwards. My issue is that I'm using an AMD card, so if I get a Freesync display, I won't be able to use G-sync later...
