Hello,

After around 13 years away from FPS gaming, I got back one year ago using a PS4 and XIM4 in order to play with keyboard and mouse for a lower price than a modern PC, but after a little more than a year playing with that setup (and seen other friends playing with high end PCs...) I have decided to save up and build myself a PC for FPS gaming mainly, plus some GoPro video editing.

After a fair amount of research and LTT videos, I have though to buy the following parts:

Case Corsair 750D Airflow
PSU Corsair RM850i
Motherboard ASUS X99 DELUXE
Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX (4x8GB DDR4 2133GHz CL13)
CPU i7-5820K
CPU's cooler Corsair H100i GTX
GPU Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 // Now thinking about the GTX1080 of course...
SSD Samsung EVO 850 500Gb
HDD ?
Monitor Acer XB270HU/XB271HU

I just wanted to know what you'd think about it, and if you see any potential problem/issue with this combination, any overkills (Memory?), or if you would choose any different part (for the equivalent price range of course).

Thanks a lot in advance and cheers!

16 gigs of memory will do quite fine really.

A WD Black 3 TB will suit your needs for a long time.

K CPU and the cooler isnt required if you arent going to overclock of course.

Please vote for Donald Trump. I am out of sitcoms to watch.

When lyfe gives you HDDs, make SSDs

Well I already got my mouse (Logitech G502), mousepad (SteelSeries Heavy) and keaboard (Razer Blackwidow tournament) and about the monitor it is a definitive choice since I know someone that works at Acer (I live in Spain).

With my proposal, I could buy it for around 2.5k (Amazon mainly), so that would be my budget.

Thanks again!

Indeed I was already thinking the 32G of RAM where not worth it. The K CPU was precisely for a potential overclock in the future, and about the HDD indeed that would do it. THANKS.

get an evga 980ti not a gigabyte one

Why do you prefer the EVGA? I did see a few reviews and comparisons and I ended up quite convinced about the G1 (specially compared to the EVGA which was my original choice at first). Amongst others:

moved to new build planning

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

One of the best 980ti's you can get, it's quiet, it's cool, and customer support is great. But if you have your heart set on Gigabyte; go for it.

Not at all, as mentioned that was my original choice, I am quite doubtful about the two actually... =)
