Are there any mods that improve the story mode? I would like to play it again but with mods.

Be careful though, if you go on-line with any mod files still installed it can get you banned.

Just look around a bit there is everything ever. Two words of warning though. Either get a mod manager or when installing mods just keep them in a folder so you can easily take them out to go online. Also only download from big trusted sites like this. Forums are iffy
