its easy. plop GPU into the PCIe x16 slot connect auxiliary power boot system up go to AMD Radeon website use the auto tool to download the correct drivers

i see! thanks for your advice :)

btw, i recently saw a post about how when you first boot up your pc, you should uninstall gpu drivers then reinstall the newest version. was this a troll post / do you do this?

You can't uninstall things that aren't installed.

if your building this from the ground up just now then you dont need to do this. normally there is a disk in the graphics card box that you can use but the drivers in it will be out of date, they will still work but it would just be not optimal. so in your case you dont have to worry about that. just go to AMDs website, download the autodetect tool then install drivers, personally i think that AMD driver installs are much easier than NVIDIA driver install because AMD has that autodetect utility

oh that's good, thanks again man! sorry for long reply had to do some house tasks.

by the way, my dad just said to plug in and turn on the psu when we are building it - isn't touching the case enough?

also, could this be dangerous or harmful to the parts to turn on the psu when it's on air?

thanks :D

to be honest i built and serviced many computers and i never grounded myself or used an anti static wristband and never have i fried any component. though i recommend you work in a non carpet environment like say your kitchen.

I'm going to build it in the living room (which is carpeted) as it's the only room with a big enough work surface, and I definitely can't build it on the narrow floor of the kitchen.

My carpet isn't that statticy though, it's pretty low key l o l.

You think it'll be fine if I just don't wear socks & touch the case frequently? :)

PS - My dad said we may build it tonight!! So happy!! :D

but will have to wait for monitor to arrive as I can't plug in GPU to current monitor xD

if I plug the vga into the mobo it'll only access the iGPU right? thanks again man :)
