Hey guys!

I´ve recently made a post just like this one on a german site but there were no competent answer so im hoping you can help me.

So... Just a couple of months ago i upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and everything worked fine. But for certain reasons i had to reset my PC to factory specs.

Yeah. I bought a Pre-Build PC back then. It had Windows 8.1 installed and even though ive replaced almost every single piece of hardware it had originally I think I technically bought the Windows key with it.

Ok... So then i was back at Windows 8.1 with an invalid key. I dont even know why it was invalid after the Update but yeah, sure. After dealing with the *Activate Windows now* Popups for a while,

I suddenly got the Upgrade to Windows 10 notification on the bottom right of my screen. After the Upgrade my Windows was activated again and I was happy.

But thats not the end. I recently had to reset my PC to Factory Specs again and the same thing happened... as you would expect.

But the thing that happened last time made me believe that my Windows 8.1 key got transformed into a Windows 10 key.

So I downloaded Windows 10 from the official website and tried to activate it with my key... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it didnt work.

So now im sitting here with my invalid Windows Copy just waiting the Popup to kill me ingame.

Do you guys know a Solution to that? The Upgrade to Windows 10 button took like a month to appear last time and I dont want to go through that torture again...

Id really appreciate your help.

Either contact Microsoft  or buy a new key for like $30 OeM.
Some many back and forth switches, I don't think keys can be used an unlimited number of times.
Don't quote me on that, though,

As you have already upgraded to Windows 10 you do not need to enter a product key when it asks for one. Your copy of Windows 10 should be activated under Digital Entitlement License.

But i currently have Windows 8.1 installed again due to the reset and when im trying to upgrade to Windows 10 its asking me for a key
