I have windows 8, and whenever i print on my hp 2600n it says error printing even though it printed...how can i fix this so i can tell when it actually didn't print as my printer is hooked up over the network and not in my room...

Try to delete the printer drivers and the device and go to devices and printers to add a network printer and put in your driver cd/download the driver and choose the driver location to install the drivers.

Did you install the HP software/updating firmware to see if that helps?
