GPU upgrading

So hey guys as i was browsing through the site that is something like craigslist in my country i saw some reference 980ti's on sale for around 450-470USD so i'm thinking of getting but i need your opinion on this. Is it worth it to get a used 980ti for around that price or is it more worth it to save up for maybe 2-3 months to get a 1080 cause the 1080 founder's edition here is priced around 800USD :(.

do you need an upgrade tho? unless your gtx 970 is too slow (which it isnt), you don't really need an upgrade

 

though if you do wanna upgrade, i would get the 1080

though, decide when we have real prices

I'm planning to upgrade to a 1440p monitor and wanting to max out games and get 50-60fps stable or even higher.

 

i was really planning on getting the 1080 for the upgrade but when i saw the pc stores releasing the price after it is released i was like wtf is this country? pc stores here are now taking pre-order and pricing it at around 800USD-830USD that is the founder's edition tho.

1080 Fail Edition overheats due to the piss poor cooler. Avoid that one

just wait for the actual release date, more 980ti will flood the used market and you can compare price to performance then lol

Yep i'm really not planing on getting the founder's edition but if the reference type is priced that high here in my country i'm getting worried that the aftermarket ones would be higher even though nvidia said the base price would be at 599USD

I think I saw some EVGA pictures at 679.99$ - it's not going to be cheap.

Yep thinking around that price would be right but considering my country priced the 699$ price of nvidia to around 800$ i''m thinking aftermarket cards would be priced somewhat around the 700$ range but i'm still hoping that it wouldn't or maybe they are just pricing it higher because of the hype and thinking many people would buy it after the launch date.

Just do the math. If 700 is priced at 830 then 680 would be 770

I was really planning on seeing what polaris would offer but i think i can't wait that long but it really depends on how fast i can save up to get a new gpu hahaha.

Wut? That's Vega - the 1080/1080 Ti/Titan competitor. The 480(X) and 470(X) are due now - from what we know they should perform like a Fury for 300$ at 150W or less

Oh i see i maybe just misread the article that i saw. Then i'll wait for polaris and see how it would perform against the 1080 and 1070 :). Thanks for letting me know i almost gone on full retard there.
