never flew one in my life

Ooh yikes. Don't make your very first flight a big expensive $500 quad. Buy like a nano Qx or a hubsan x4 so you can learn the controls. While the phantom 3 is a pretty idiot proof aircraft, it doesn't really have the training wheels that the other two options I suggested have. It's definitely worth it to spend the $50-100 to learn how everything works than to spend much more fixing a phantom menace every time you try to fly it.
