So I'm thinking about building a backpack PC to run for VR:

The parts list looks something like this:

Spoiler

pcpartpicker list

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-6700T
  • CPU Cooler: Silverstone AR06
  • Mobo: Asus Z170I PRO GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151
  • Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB
  • SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
  • Case: Silverstone RVZ01B
  • PSU: Silverstone 500W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply
  • GPU: NVidia 1070/some yet-to-be-announced polaris card

With a vive as the main monitor (hopefully I won't have to connect it to my monitors to set it up every time >.>).

My main question was how long I would be able to run the whole system on a battery like this one.

Any other thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sauyon

Yes, the backpack would be heavy, but not enough I think for it to become a very large issue.

You're probably right about the amount of time for gaming, so I've done some research and decided on a couple things:

First, I can buy batteries separately and use this DC-DC PSU as going from DC to AC and back seems wasteful.

I'm also probably just going to ditch the case entirely and build a custom frame around the PC, which should save some weight and effort.
