I ordered the Asus ROG g751jy-wh71(wx) laptop about six months ago. Never having had any sort of legitimate gaming rig to compare performance to, I thought nothing was wrong with the lag I experienced, writing it off as a "laptop issue". However recently, a friend of mine who's been a hardcore gamer for quite some time brought up some concerns when the lag coming from Dark Souls 3 on low made the game near unplayable at times. He had me benchmark the computer, only to find it receiving scores averaging about 50% of what reviews online said they should be. Is this a hardware issue I should bring up with ASUS or is there something I can do to fix the failing performance?

The parts are as follows:

CPU - Intel Core i7-4720HQ 2.6GHz

GPU - GeForce GTX980M, 4GB GDDR5

RAM - 16GB DDR3L 1600MHz SDRAM

Storage - 1TB HDD 7200 RPM + Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512 GB

OS - Windows 10

Average benchmarks:

Firestrike - 4832

Cinebench CPU - 595

Bioshock Infinate - 43.51 FPS
