Hello LTT community. I want to get some advice about my first build.

My build atm:

CPU: Intel Core i5 6500

GPU: AMD R9 380x

Motherboard: MSI H170 Gaming M3

RAM: Hyperx Fury 8GB DDR4-2400

HDD:  Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200RPM  3.5" SATA

Case: NZXT Source 340

Power Supply: Seasonic S12II Series 620W

CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

My budget is 800$ and this build brings me to around 797$ I live in the Netherlands btw. And as you can see, I've got a CPU Fan but I don't plan on overclocking. If I don't buy the CPU Fan I'll have 30 bucks left. What I wanted to ask is if I should use those 30 bucks on getting a Intel Core i5 6600 instead of the Intel Core i5 6500, if I should use the 30 bucks to buy a better motherboard if so do you guys have any suggestion for a LGA 1151 motherboard or if I should just keep the CPU Fan. If you have any other advice for my build I'll gladly hear it!

Thank you in advance.

The i5 6500 and stock cooler is good enough, use the heatsink money to get a 120gb ssd instead.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Since you can't overclock those chips, the stock fans are fine.
I'd ditch the cooler and get the better CPU here.

[CPU: 4.7ghz I5 6600k] [MBAsus Z170 Pro G] [RAM: G.Skill 2400 16GB(2x8)]

[GPU: MSI Twin Frozr GTX 970] [PSU: XFX Pro 850W] [Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo]
[Storage: 500GB WD HDD / 128GB SanDisk SSD ] [Case: DeepCool Tessaract]

[Keyboard: AZIO MGK1] [Mouse: Logitech G303] [Monitor: 2 x Acer 23" 1080p IPS]

Hey did you use tweakers.net to find the best price?

It's a very good site for building a PC and general information.

Anyways I would ditch the cooler and get the better CPU, my stock cooler gave up after ~2 years of daily use, so by then you have saved up enough to get a good CPU fan.

And the temps aren't even that bad, around the ~70 degrees under full load for me.

CPU: Intel i5-3470

GPU: MSI GTX 780

OS: GNU/Linux.

Thanks for replying!

I actually haven't used tweakers.net I might start using it. I was leaning towards the better CPU anyways. thanks for the advice!

Tweakers compares the price and also has user reviews, they also have a build builder (lol) where you can make your entire build (requires a account)and it'll get a total price of the cheapest shops. So you might even be able to get an better CPU and a fan!

Yeah I just made an account xD. But I'm pretty sure I already used one of the cheapest sites for building a PC. But thanks anyway!
