im doing a school project and all i need is a pump and i dont really want to spend a lot more money so do you think this pump is okay just for cpu cooling?

Oh, man! Your budget is so close, but falls a tiny bit short. The best pump that ever existed is Laing D5, but you need to add a top to it. And you can't get both for $75. Either cheap out now and get that crappy Phobya (it overheats and the pressure is pretty puny) or get the D5 with the stock top (it's noisy and the barbs suck). Upgrade in the longer run? Are you set on the reservoir already? You can get ones with a D5 top built in.

 

You don't need a D5 for a simple loop like yours. It's just super robust, has spare parts available, lots of tops and mounts, it's watercooled, it's huge and powerful and still silent and I'd marry one if I could.

like i said its for a school project, i dont need like -500000000c just need something to show that it is worth doing if you have the money.

Fair enough. :D Just get the DC12. You really can't go balls to the wall D5+custom top if you have to prove a point about the price. But try and find a way to mount the pump at the lowest point of the loop so that the coolant falls naturally into it all the time. The type of blade design it has, makes it very vulnerable to bubbles.
