What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

Mainly for gaming purposes (ultra quality enthusiast...), but would be using it for calculations in SPSS, matlab and other statistics software.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

Resolution: 1920x1080. As many fps as possible on high settings (aiming for 60+).

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

2000€. Stuff from European shops preferred. Best would be German online shops (because of shipping...). Am willing to go to a maximum of 2.5k€.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

Germany.

As you can see: it is not a full build (yet). I was out of the game for too long since my last build (in 2011) and didn't keep up with as many updates as I wanted to. Additionally to that I have absolutely no experience regarding watercooled systems. So all help would be appreciated!

As mentioned I still need much help around a few things. I want to do a custom watercooling with soft tubing (i dont think that I could handle hard tubes, yet). It would be greatly appreciated if someone could guide me through the whole hardware... What radiator to get, which pump, fittings, etc. I'm really new to this, sorry. Another factor regarding this is the case: which case I the best for a system with a custom watercooling loop? A full tower one? Mid-tower? I read somewhere that the Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower is the best one for the money.

As for the graphics card: I'm actually waiting for the new series to come out. As of now I'm thinking about getting a gtx1070 (I'm not really an AMD fan since 3 out of 3 graphics cards went to the eternal hunting grounds due to different problems. R.I.P.). I think that the 1080 would be really nice to have, but wouldn't fit my budget due to the intended watercooling.

Another important (!) thing for me is the overall noise produced by the system. Do you think that is feasible with this build/budget?

A few background infos:

  • CPU: I chose the 6700k over the i5s and 5820k because I think it is a bit more future proof regarding performance and I feel that I don't need so many threads for my purposes (mainly gaming and running simulations/calculations, truth be told: those can be a bit taxing on the machines as well...).

  • Motherboard: picked this through choosemypc.net.

  • RAM: I chose 16 because my 8GB of RAM aren't really cutting it anymore. May opt to 32 gigs in the future.

  • Storage: I will migrate my existing storage into this system as well. The SSD will function as OS drive and storage for my most-used apps, obviously. The mass storage is needed...

  • Power supply: I would opt for a 650W model, tbh.

Really looking forward to your opinions, suggestions and help!

So I've done some more research and came to a second version of the parts that I would get:

  • I calculated the GTX1070 with 450€ I hope that is not too optimistic.
  • Enthoo Primo...heard only great stuff about this case. I honestly thought that I would never (want) to spend more than 150€ on a case but I was wrong. I hope to use it for future builds as well so this is a long-term investment.

Opinions?

So now there would be approx. 330€ left for the custom loop. I've done some research on that topic as well but can't really see the quality differences etc. Help would be really appreciated. If that really is not enough, I can cash out a few more bucks (budget up to 2.5k).
