No video out of Video Card, Not visible in Device Manager, Geforce Experince won't install driver.

Sharkyx1

This post is for a friend who is having piles upon piles of tech issues with a recent system build, im going to use "he" but i might write I by accident, i don't have access to the system and am posting to drum up any ideas for stuff we haven't tried.

i5 2500k

a Gigabyte Z68 Motherboard (will edit in exact model)

a Rosefield 650w PSU (Will edit in exact model)

Windows 7 64 bit

A PNY Nvidia Geforce GTX 570 1280MB

this system ran flawlessly for a week or so, and then failed to boot, turns out it wasn't outputting video from the GPU anymore.

The card is not shown in Device Manager, no error, just not there, no Hardware info devices detect it, and Nvidia won't install new drivers because GFX doesn't detect the card.

After trying many software fixes including DDU, uninstalling integrated driver, cold boots, switching ram, changing power plugs and plenty of other things to no avail he

Purchased a new motherboard to no change,

BIOS shows a device using PCIe 2.0x0 lanes

He tried it in another PC with a working Nvidia Driver and it ran correctly, so then he bought a new PSU to test that, as the Goldfield was an older dual rail one that wasn't very good to no change as well.

Were both run out of ideas and google is not providing any useful new ones so i thought i'd ask here.

Have you tried re-seating the card or using the card in a different PCIe slot?

So We've Tried two different motherboards, and the first had a single slot, the second had three and we've tried every slot

bad ps or dead card.

Switched PSUs to another one, and tried the card in another system

New PSU didn't help

Card works in another system.

He thinks he might be able to install the driver with another card and then use his 570.on Wednesday a friend is coming over with some spare parts to check that

next thing to do is try a different power supply. if it still doesn't work it must be the board.

He's gonna get rid of the card and use a different one, because both PSUs, both boards and everyhting did the same thing

that's that then.

Ive just never heard of a card just totally not working with one setup, when a different card works in there and the bad card works perfectly in 4 other PCs, when the only thing he's kept the same in his PC is his 2500k. but a friend of his said he would buy the 570 for the 40$ he paid for it.
