For a power button? You'd have to flick it on then back off.

I'd suggest finding a switch that returns to off automatically after being turned to the on position, that way it acts more like a power button.

 

And yes, it's possible, you've just gotta redo the power switch wires to connect to the switch instead of front panel.

The "issue" you have here is that the switch is either on or off. It will have to be flicked on, then off to turn on the PC.

 

Wiring it up is very simple, you just need to wire up the two pins that bridge the power connectors on the motherboard.

Try looking for a momentary toggle switch, that would work best for a power switch and not have it to flick on and back off.
