Hello everyone,

I am seaching for some switches which use cut-through instead of store-and-forward, but I didn´t find a single one..

Do you guys have any ideas?

They should have 8 ports and use cut-through. They don´t need to be manageable or something like that.

My budget dosen´t really matter, i´ll go with that one that I think is worth it, after I got some suggestions.

Thanks!

Please quote me in any answers to my posts, so that I can read them easily and don´t forget about them. Thanks!

I love spending my time with PC tinkering, networking and server-stuff.

Is there a reason you believe you require cut-through? Something like localized video/audio conferencing and you can't let your traffic be delayed?

I can let my traffic be delayed, but I don´t want it to :D

It is more that I want to test something, but not if its like multiple 100$.

Most switches that actually support real cut-through aren't $100's of dollars but tens of thousands of dollars. It's generally only implemented on data-center switches unless I missed something that's about the only place I found it.

Well even if you did locate a cut-through switch I don't think the lower latency (if any) would increase performance noticeably. If you want higher localized speed look into gigabit switches. If you are already using one cut-through won't do much for requesting web pages or file transfers. It helps for services that are very sensitive to time delay such as VoIP and video conferencing.
