Ive recently been moving data around my computers (20gb) on a Kingston data traveler 32gb flashdrive, but after one portion (20gb) was transfered it locked up and said that it is write protected whenever i try to copy anything over to it. ive just setup homegroup, but that thing is going at 1.81 megabytes per second when my drive did 40-70

Are you sure you didn't accidentally switch the write protection switch? Sometimes those little switches are starting to be loose and switch by themselves while inserting the flash drive into the port.

This file has no write protection. So:

1. check it with Antivirus

2. See if it isn't full

3. regedit - go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies. Look for WriteProtect key and modify it. It should be set to 0 and hit ok. Unplug and plug it back (the flashdrive)

4. You can try to use diskpart and clear readonly attributes from flashdrive
