Looking for recomendation(s) on a graphics card too pair up too my Intel core i5 6400, 8gb ddr4 and upgrade from the a AMD Radeon R9 360

i am running 1920 x 1080 currently with no plans too but a new 4K TV

It will be around 400$ when it comes out next month.

I'm I the UK so that's what ~£300 that's probably the high end of what I would want to spend on "the best thing I could put in" before bottlenecks or just has features I would never use like multi monitors 3D VR and 4K etc

But if you are going for r9 390 or GTX 970, you might just wait for 1070 to be released.

Will cost a bit more, but will work for 1080p gaming for quite some time

So the top one worth putting in is either the gtx 970 or the 390? Anything else higher would be a waste of dosh? 

 

Anything cheaper noticeably less performance? and or a waste of dosh?

Something about that.

But as I said, 1070 will be released in less than 1 month. It might be around 400$, but it could be 50% better than current r9 390/gtx 970 ? Who knows  

 

I would wait for 1070 in your case.

 

Bought R9 390 4 months ago and I still feel bad about it. Don't do same mistake as I did

That release would also bring down the price of current cards correct? So I may find something on a deal if they are trying too shift "older" cards like the 980 or 980ti?

GTX 980 gets 20% better score than R9 390. But R9 390 is like 40% cheaper.

 

In 2 days we will get GTX 1080 benchmarks released. 2 weeks more for 1070 to be released.

So I would really wait if I were you.

 

But if you can't wait, just check those score above in link. Compare score with price in your country, and get best value that you need

Right the plan is this, get a 1070 UNLESS I see a 980 or 980ti on a deal that's just silly too pass up at like £100

The more I read up and think about it I think a amd r9 380x is going to fit into my system and budget the best so I'll be going with that, on a side note this card also keeps the black and red theme of my PC as well as I think the change in graphics drivers would be way easier with another AMD card
