use a free tool called rufus to make the usb bootable with the iso

Personally, I use a freeware utility called ISO-to-USB. It's extremely simple to use. Provide the ISO file and the drive you wish to install to, check "include bootloader", then hit burn (write, or whatever it's called). Wait a few minutes and there you go, you've got a perfectly functional Windows USB drive.
