Choice help

Hey Guys. Im helping a friend to make a choice from what processor is kinda better. The FX 8370 vs the Intel i7-6700k? Hes damn rich so maybe other necssary components will be bought if it is needed or what is required by that processor. All he wants to know is what it id better, faster and all. So, what is better guys?

that should tell you everything you need but simply put the i7 generates less heat uses less energy and its overall faster. it also has quite a bit of overclocking headroom, dont know how much the FX has.

Im a total noob about this things. But AMD boasts a lot of cores. Doesnt that help? Cores is where you put tasks right?

 threads  are what process the tasks and in this case the FX has 8 cores and each core has 1 thread but the i7 has 4 cores and each core has 2 threads so both have 8 threads. The thing in amd cpus is that they have crazy high stats but their performance is nowhere near Intel processors. And cores are not as important as Ghz and as the i7 can be overclocked it will be a lot better.  I know it can be confusing but you'll get a hang of it  ?

if you friend had the cash to spend even i saying this go i7-6700k, this is the latest chip intel can offer, but if your friend is not even in a hurry try to wait zen and will see if amd can beat or get in par with intel.

Yes. He is definitely rich. And can totally wait too, will the Zen from AMD outplay the i7?

we need to see and wait, it my or my not but people still are battling the red and blue.
