Overclocking? amd fx 6300

Go to solution Solved by EunSoo,

I just AMD Overdrive for an easy 4.1ghz overclock. You have to overclock it each time you boot up the computer though. I would recommend using the turbo core option and just setting the multiplier to max (4.1ghz). Or you can set the multiplier and voltage manually

Hey guys, I was wondering how I would go about overclocking my amd fx 6300 black addition unlocked. Its clocked at 3.5 ghz and want to bump it to 4.1 ghz. I tried reading tut's online but I dont really understand much they are saying. Hopefully some one here can help?

Try overclocking through the BIOS. i dont know much about you board so i dont know what options to give you. if not on the bios then try AMD overdrive.

(you also might need a beefier psu for more power for overclocking)

Every guide will tell you the same. Go into your bios and change the CPU  tuner  to manual and adjust the cpu ratio to where your CPU target speeds will reach 4.1. Run a cpu stability test and if it crashes our your computer blue screens, go back to your BIOS and change the voltage ever so slightly high and repeat until stable.

I've only used it once to get a not super stable overclock. You might want to watch some videos on how to use it. I am not a huge overclocker so I can't help you with that program too much.

Well the easiest way would be multiplier & vcore voltage. Increase the multiplier by 2 or 3 and increase the voltage by say 0.1V then run a stability test for 30mins. if it passes increase the multiplier by 1 again, stability test, when the stability test inevitably fails. bump up the voltage by 0.05V or 0.1V again and rinse, repeat. keep an eye on your core temperatures don't let it go above 55°C (or 61°C I don't remember which) then just keep going until you hit your thermal cap then run a final 24hr stress test to validate the stability of the overclock. If it passes then you've reached your maximum overclock.
