Hi guys! I'm making a small backup-related game for a course I'm running. The basic principal is the same as in the rock-paper-scissors -game. One beats something and loses to something else.

I'm planning on doing it with cards you turn over so I'd like to spend more time on the crafting, which I suck at and less on the planning and researching. So if you guys could help me out. Just blurt out all risks requiring backing up your data, what's a good counter-measure and what's a bad countermeasure. Or whatever. I just want to cover it all as thoroughly as possible.

For instance, viruses beat RAID1 but RAID1 beats HDD failure.

ultimate backup solution = RAID 1 + nightly off-site backup

casual user = weekly/monthly backup (to an external drive, not an internal drive)

it's best to have atleast 3 copies of your data, 2 is fine too but risky

i have 3 copies of my data in my house and 1 copy at my friend's house that i connect VIA cloud (in case of a fire or what not)

overkill but my data (basically pictures, music, animes and some games) are like my life to me, so yea :D

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
