I bought this mouse back in September of last year as a replacement to my Razer Abyssus.  Quirks aside, I really like this mouse.  An issue has cropped up as of late.  My left-click seems to register as a double-click periodically.  When this happens, however, there is no indication of any obvious hardware issue.  I've lightly applied pressure to either button to see if there is any difference in resistance and both appeared to be functionally intact.

There is some dirt underneath the buttons, which could be causing the issue.  As far as I can tell, there is virtually no room to clean anything out with canned air.  I've created a support ticket with Logitech, but is there anything I can do in the meantime?

Looking at the Logitech forums, this double-click issue seems to be relatively common.  I'm not sure if it's specific to a particular model or wireless mice in general.

It's not just Logitech. It's a common issue that electromechanical switches "bounce" on and off when they're triggered. The fixes for the issue vary from different HW solutions to software solutions. I'm no mouse engineer myself but I'm guessing a lot of mice have a 'switch de-bouncer' baked into the program code or driver. That'd explain why the solution so often is some form of resetting or reinstalling.

I'm just babbling. I have no actual solution for you. You could drench the mouse in isopropyl alcohol but it needs to be 99% so it evaporates well. The aim being to soak the dirt out.

Hopefully, they'd be willing to send a replacement then.  I'll be annoyed if I have to purchase a replacement. :(

I had this problem before with my logitech g500 and i fixed it. The springs of those stupid omron switches inside your mouse need to be re-tensioned.

Its quite a bit of work but you need to take apart your mouse, open up the left button switch and add more tension to the spring by bending it a little.  You need some really steady fingers, needle nose tweezers and a flathead driver no more than 1mm in width to fix this by yourself.

Will void ur warranty so do this at your own risk if you have no other options.

Interesting.  When you had that issue, did a single-click sound like a double-click?  When it happens for me, the double-click still sounds like a single-click.  If I intentionally double-click, there is a distinct difference in sound.  Wouldn't a spring issue cause it to click twice?

the problem are the microswitches - as of late (couple of years actually), OMRON has brought to market some utter shitty switches

I regularly open up my mouse and reshape the switch "blade"

Does Omron supply all of the switches in the market?

it's the most common one, Logitech used them for decades

but I've seen other mice builders using them, and that upsets me - I specifically avoided buying Logitech and I ended up with a Genius mouse that uses OMRON :/

Just had some email exchanges with Logitech.  Unsurprisingly, they gave me the standard Windows settings tweak suggestions.  I can expect much with free support I suppose.  Told them that I tried their suggestions already (which is half true but I could tell they were just copying a pre-canned checklist so whatever).

After about four emails, they're sending me a replacement and I don't even need to send the defective one back.  I'll probably give the other one to my brother to see if he wants to tinker with it.  If he can get it to work correctly, he can have it.
