Hyperx cloud 2 static

I have a static noise on my new headset .when i turn on the pc i have no static , but every system sound i hear is basically the sound and theres satic noise in the background, i go into teamspeak , the second i press connect i start hearing static. 

Another thing is that when i disable surround mode the static noise stops. 

Please help? i didnt download anything for this headset but from articles online im not supposed to need a software

Your not really supposed to use your 7.1 surround outside of games and listening to 7.1 compatible music.

im just surprised i didnt notice it till now , i just hope it really has nothing to do with my headset

Well, when I turn 7.1 on outside of games it just sounds weird. There isn't really any static or disruption, so you could be having a problem or two. Have you gone through the windows audio wizard to set up your headset?

its like really reallly small amount of static , and with stereo mode i have zero. maybe its supposed to be.. i have no idea

If this is through skype or ts3 or mumble there will always be static, it can't really be prevented. Try going to your Playback Devices, go to your headset's properties and have a look at some options there in the Enhancements and Advanced. Some of those options can help you hopefully.

yeah nothing is really doing anything.. i just hope its how its supposed to be because i just now noticed it and with stereo theres no static

I have the same headset and I have never listened to music with the 7.1 feature enabled, I've used it in games and it feels great to know where footsteps etc are coming from.

 

I am currently listening to music on mine at the time of writing this post and everything is fine.

I take it you're using their USB adapter thing that converts the signal over to USB through the standard 3.5mm jack?

Cloud2 user here also (for about a week now). I am not experiencing this.

 

Can you try updating the firmware from here: <FIRMWARE UPDATE>

I tried updating mine, but it was already the latest version (005).

 

If above doesn't work, can you try switching USB ports? from front panel to back panel, or vice versa

 

Please note that the Cloud2 7.1 dongles ARE KNOWN to fail.

That's why most people in this forum suggest to get the Cloud1 and just apply Razer Surround if you NEED the 7.1.

 

If nothing works, get a replacement.
