I got a free Evga Micro 2 from a friend and obviousouly i wanted a shiny new chip to go with it, i was looking at around 400 cad dollar chips when i saw the xeon e5  1620 v3 i almost bought it until i saw this https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/103358-inputs-on-intel-xeon-e5-1620-v3 i am using 16 gb of gskills ripjaw 5 and a gtx 690 so will it be compatibale

The cpu is in EVGA's cpu QVL for that motherboard. See http://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/. Some cpu features would not be supported. ECC memory for instance.
