So, around Friday or Saturday my PC started to run really slow for no apparent cause. The only changes I made were to get the Corsair M65 mouse (non-RGB) and install corresponding software, and install powerline. The powerline module I use plugs into the wall socket, then my extension cable plugs into the pass-through (I guess you could call it that) and my PC plugs into this extension. I don't know the amperage limit for the powerline module and I'm not sure if the module limits current, but Aida64 tells me in voltage values that +3.3V is 20mV, which seems like it could be an error, but I've never really looked into the voltage values before, so I don't know if this is a motherboard error from manufacture or a power problem. I'm not sure if the Vin of the PSU would actually be affected by the module or not.

Anyway, it may be a problem of just needing more RAM, but I've never had a MASSIVE issue with RAM before. 8GB is usually fine because of the pagefile, but it seems to be filling up a lot more recently for some reason. Not sure why. Can someone direct me to some testing software, etc... I've not got an awful amount of time to troubleshoot with exams and such, it'd just be useful to be able to use my PC without having to get pissed because it keeps lagging. Reminds me of my laptop with a PENTIUM processor. I mean, fuck.

Edit: Forgot to mention, but temps on CPU rarely exceed 70C, even on full load, and same for the GPU, except 75C instead of 70C.

Are you using windows 10 ? I had an issue when I installed them where they made the page file really small for some reason. Try making it bigger manually. Not sure if its going to work though

No, I did upgrade a few times to give it a go but reverted to Windows 8.1 almost immediately each time.

what clock speeds is your cpu running on when your pc slows down ? If it gets underpowered for some reason it should also throttle down

I haven't really monitored it, but it generally runs at 3.7GHz at full load.

Yes thats the normal frequency. What I'm trying to see here is if your cpu is getting underpowered due to some part failure or something. Can you try to stress it and monitor it from the task manager ? If it gets underpowered, it should drop down the frequency by itself

Just did for the past couple minutes. No change in clock speed (apart from a 40MHz difference periodically which won't make any difference)

It's probably a RAM issue, especially given this screenshot: nAvlmjh.png

Yeah... It's PROBABLY something to do with this: 7dhQOZx.png

What the fuck is wrong with me lol. Only thing is this issue never occured before so I'm curious as to why it's happening now. Maybe my pagefile got reduced as there's a limited space left on my SSD. So, more RAM and more secondary storage is probably gonna be the fix. Great.

Why is your ram at such high usage ? What process is taking all of it ?

ignore that LOL just saw the second screenshot. Yea more ram should solve it. I've heard there are a lot of good trusted sites where you can download more ram :P

Right on it. On www.downloadmoreram.com right now, like I should have been from the start.
