Hi All,

Looking for some advise, I'm looking for a way for me to gain access to my Dad's network from my own network, so I can download from him the Series/Movies he has stored.

What are my options on getting this set up.

Would FTP software be best? Or setting up a VPN Link? or is there something easier?

Hope someone can advise :)

Kind regards

Barry

Personally I use FTP between my and my parent's network for file transfers so my dad can throttle the FTP connection if he needs more bandwidth for something else and it won't impact me since I'm not streaming the content or anything. If it's strictly for videos then why not setup a Plex server on both networks and "share" them so you can stream his content and vise-versa?

Think Ill do FTP then, Just wanted to see what other people are using. Like you said gives good control on bandwidth. Tho both have 200+ D/13+U so shouldn't be to bad.

Thanks for your input tho :)
