Home NAS setup help

looking into setting up NAS setup and was wondering what others thought i want fast transfer speeds for cheap. looking @ finding old xeon workstation and finding a switch would like to get 100mbps or higher transfer speeds just seeing what i can do on a budget. also 10gbps NIC cards in all pc's

Currently i only get 10mbps between computers.
