Hey guys, first off, I'm going to start by saying don't kill me because I bought a pair of Razer Kraken Forged Edition or because I haven't bought a separate microphone. Now, my problem: I do in fact have a pair of Razer Kraken Forged Edition headphones, they come with two different cables; one with an in-line mic, one without. I want to use the in-line mic with my PC but cannot as it requires a mic/audio combo port, I only have two separate ports (one for audio, one for mic). Considering this, can somebody tell me a good mic/audio splitter cable like the one Razer sells (theirs is out of stock) so I can use the in-line mic on the cable to talk etc. PS I have tried putting the singular cable in either port on my PC, but it doesn't work both t the same time (don't worry headphone freaks, I haven't distorted my audio by doing this).

Preferably this would be off Amazon so I can order it with free one-day shipping :)

Cheers, Thomas

Nonono a much better option would be to sell the bad "forged" thing and buy better headphones and a mic for the money you get from some fanboy that wants razer everything. xD

A splitter is kinda hit and miss, some work with some jacks and some don't, I have no idea why. I have a splitter from sound blaster I got at a event, that works fine with my friends Asus laptop, but doesn't work with my ThinkPad. I also have a splitter that works for my ThinkPad, but doesn't work with my friends Asus laptop.

Just buy a couple different ones and see what works for you, since they are all pretty cheap.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

I love the Kraken Forged, the sound signature is perfect for me, basically very base heavy. I got a great deal on them, over 50% off, and you can't deny that they look incredible, very solid build quality (almost full aluminium construction) and they include a hard carrying case which I need due to my constant travel.

Thanks for the advise on splitters though

I think they look like utter shit and sound like utter shit. The quality is so god damn bad even Linus hated them and he his not that good with headphones.

Good luck buying splitters. :)

presumably you need TRRS to 2x 3.5mm TRS jacks.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262318854977?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT i have this in black, ordered a white one too. used it in my project here too http://imgur.com/a/7ILOx

i genuinely don't see why it wouldn't work unless splitter is defective in some way, as it is just standard pinout as 3.5mm jack, just the ground bit is split and half of it is used for the MIC signal. when you plug it into normal 3.5mm headphone jack, mic pin gets shorted, that's how phone knows whether it's a headset or just headphones from what i can tell.

anyways what you want is that, i assume, otherwise it'd be the other way around to combine the two. had no problem with them what so ever and these are the cheapest ones i could find, but still quite nice quality and insulation is the nice rubbery stuff, plus copper core has the little string to reinforce it. Ran it over repeatedly with my chain and it holds up fine, as i use one with that same headset from the link above to connect it to the extension cable that has mic and volume controls.

Actually Dackzy, he said they have great construction, are great for gaming (my primary use for them) but can be a bit base heavy, which I LIKE.

Well, on the bright side, at least I have a laptop that looks like something from this century, and a custom built PC, instead of a shitty Lenovo ThinkPad. What went through your mind when you were buying that thing? Did you think you gained bragging rights by getting the 'top model'? You make me laugh. Also, you think Razer Kraken Forged Editions are ugly... You have a Lenovo ThinkPad

You don't know anything about laptops then if you think a ThinkPad is bad. My thinkpad has the best dual core i7 cpu you could get at that time and it beats a i5 5200u so yeah "shitty" huh and it has a quadro 4200m this laptop cost about $3k when it was new. If you knew anything about laptops you would know that my ThinkPad can kick most 14 inch laptops they sell to day that cost over 1k and it is 5 years old now and can last 8 hours on battery.

A ThinkPad can last a life time and did you also see that I have a desktop with a I7 4770k and I also have a 3D modeling Desktop with a i7 5960k with a titan x.

I think you are just mad because I dare to tell the god damn truth about things.

Since you are going after me.

Let me hear what laptop do you own, since that is "so much better".

I have a Razer Blade QHD (2015), not the best in the world, but it does the job.

I can say so many bad things about that laptop, but I wont because I don't want to be like you.

You already are, putting down my headphones.

I am sorry if that made you feel bad, but I said my opinion about them and the truth. If you are happy with them then it is fine. I don't see any reason to why you should go after my laptop at all, especially since I can kinda see that you didn't know what was in it.

Let us just put this behind us okay? :)

Thank you, I agree, we both had anger that wasn't needed. (no need for the "especially since I can kinda see that you didn't know what was in it")
