So I have been doing research to find a good pc for around 500 us dollars I have made a current list that should be able to run whiter 3 on medium 30 fps (I did an online check on the site Game Debate, if you wanna see what I'm talking about go to google and type in the search "can my pc run witcher 3 game debate" and it should be one of the first links) I would like to find a pc that can do just as well for hopefully cheaper than 500 or maybe better for a little more (I do have room for more money but i would like to keep it as cheap as possible with still keeping it realistic) here his my current list on pcpartpicker, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/F6zsbv Like I said I want something that can run as well as this for cheaper or better for a little more spending but not over 650 please (this is a mixed build of AMD and Nvidia I know but I don't really care about brands I just care about performance). I am somewhat educated on parts for pc's but I'm no where near good, little side note this will be my first pc build.

First, you don't need a 700 W PSU. For the system you linked, you'd be fine with 400 W. Maybe get a 550 W to allow for upgrades in the future.

I'd recommend an intel CPU but that'll put you very close to 650 even with an i3.

If you could save up to $800 or even $1000, you'll get a much more capable machine.

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

Remember to quote people if you want them to see your reply!

much better with a skylake i3 and an ssd for under 500$ (assumed you like that case).
Consider spending 60$ more or so for a cheap skylake i5 though, with that you wouldnt have to worry about cpu performance for quite a while. I only put in a single 8gb stick so you can get another one when you like to spend a little cash.

Here you go man, a decent $500 build.  While it doesn't have a GTX 960, the 950 isn't a bad card by any means.  Also the FX-6300 is a better CPU than the A8-7600.

Also, I don't know if you were planning on overclocking (which isn't really recommended on the selected MOBO) so I stuck with the stock CPU cooler.  Trust me, it isn't as bad or loud as people say.  Get some thermal paste off of Amazon for like $5 though, as the FX series doesn't have it pre-applied from what I hear.

Also, instead of a straight HDD, I threw in a 1 TB hybrid drive.  I also went blue themed just cause I like blue, feel free to change out the colors.

Also, you don't need a 700w PSU, the 500B by EVGA will be perfect for you.

The Full Pounder Korbger (main PC):

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X | CPU Cooler: Deepcool AK500 ZERO DARK | MOBO: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX | RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-5600 | Storage: Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe SSD, 2x Inland Professional 1TB SATA SSDs | GPU: ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9070 | Case: Fractal Design North | PSU: Montech CENTURY II 850W 80+ Gold

Sheer Will and Spite (home server):

CPU: AMD A10-7870K | CPU Cooler: Stock AMD Cooler | MOBO: ASRock FM2A88X PRO3+ | RAM: Crucial 16GB DDR3-1600 | Storage: Kingston SSDNow S50 16GB SSD, Crucial MX100 512GB SSD, Seagate BarraCuda 2TB HDD, Western Digital Blue 2TB HDD, Seagate BarraCuda 1TB HDD, Seagate 1TB hybrid drive | GPU: Sparkle ECO Arc A310 | Case: Apevia X-Plorer | PSU: Thermaltake Smart Pro RGB 750W 80+ Bronze | Expansion Card: VOGZONE 2.5Gb PCIe Network Card

The Curb Stomp Coin-Op (MAME Machine):

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 | CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith SPIRE | MOBO: Gigabyte GA-AB350N-Gaming WIFI | RAM: Patriot Signature Premium 16GB DDR4-2666 | Storage: PNY CS900 240GB SSD, Samsung 860 Evo 2TB SSD | GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti | Case: Homemade Arcade Cabinet | PSU: Corsair RM750x 750W 80+ Gold | Monitor: ONN 21.5" 1080p 100Hz Freesync

Bazzite Box (HTPC):

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | CPU Cooler: Wraith Spire | MOBO: ASRock AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac | RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4-3000 | Storage: WD Black SN770 1TB NVMe SSD | GPU: PowerColor Fighter Radeon RX 6600 XT | Case: PowerTrain X-GAMER X100 | PSU: MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80+ Bronze

  • 2 weeks later...

gotta say thx to everyone who is helping me out I am really appreciating all the help I am getting but my plans for graphics cards has changed I'm going to throw the extra cash for a gtx 1070 when I have either the money or when it's in stock, otherwise that everything looks good from what everyone has said in response but I guess I forgot to mention I like running a lot in my background when i game from making videos to skyping with friends (and skyping takes up all my current processor which is a intel core I7-4500U dual core) and that can barely keep up but I am aware that this cpu is a pretty crappy I7. So with these current changes I would like it so much if you could help me along with these guide lines. I am really stuck on the 1070/1080 when it comes out so it would be useful if I could work around the graphics card instead of other components if that is possible. and sorry if I'm being hard to work with I'm trying to make this pc last as long as possible for a fair price
