SSD Cache and RAID?

Nicktendo

Is it possible to do RAID 1 with SSD cache in order to speed up the write/read speeds?

It is my understanding that a raid 1 is as fast as the SLOWEST drive.

NAS: Synology DS218j, 2x 4TB Seagate Ironwolf

Media Accelerator: Nvidia Shield via Plex

For writes, yes.  But on reads, or mixed workloads, additional drives, even slower drives, can and does make a difference.
