"High Density Memory"

Here's one for the folks who know about DDR2... Will these really cheap sets of 8gb DDR2 "For AMD Motherboards" that I've been seeing on eBay actually work? I have an asus M4A78L-M which regrettably only has 2 slots. I'm using this temporarily until I can get a replacement for my Z170 motherboard that died, but I've found that 2gb of memory is unworkable.

The system is running a Phenom 2 X2 550. I could get a better motherboard (one that supports ddr3), but I'm hesitant to do so as this is just going to be re-retired again when I can afford a new Z170 board.

Here's a link to one such listing, for reference. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-8GB-2x4GB-PC2-6400-240pin-DDR2-800MHz-Desktop-Memory-for-AMD-Motherboard/271982269793?_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226&_trkparms=aid%3D555014%26algo%3DPL.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D36461%26meid%3D610289a256c143c28d22e36e42c7c0cd%26pid%3D100505%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26

The motherboard specs on the Asus site says it supports DDR2 800.
*Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.
It's only $16 and you can return it.

Yes, it will work on AM2(+)/AM3 series CPUs with DDR2 motherboards.

The reason behind it is AMDs K8 IMC was the only controller at the time to support 2GB per rank (4GB) DIMMS of DDR2. LGA775 was limited to 1GB per rank (2GB DIMMS).

Of course some muppet will come in and say "ram is ram" like every other time this question is asked.. but hey-ho.

I think I'll buy it (Probably won't return it as return shipping to HK is miserable...)

Edit: WTF? Edited to remove a mistake and it reposted.... Whatever.
