So I've been bitten by the bug, I've completed my build, worked out the kinks (thanks to some cool contributors) but now I'm constantly looking at my computer like what else, whats next? I want to do something upgrade something, change something. I don't necessarily want to fork out the money to do another build just yet. I'm fighting the urge to change gpu's again as my 970 is doing just fine at my 1080p gaming. I might get case led but that won't really be satisfying. I would get an SSD but that won't really be satisfying as I rarely turn my computer off and have only used a third of my 2TB HDD. Any advice on things I can do to my pc.

PS: Not water cooling either, because when I do I want to go full custom, no mediocre. Can't afford that just yet.

16gb DDR3

600w PSU

2TB HDD

SSD for a OS boot drive. 120 GB - 256 GB ones are pretty affordable and all you'll need for windows and most frequent applications.

Even if you don't see the boot load time benefits frequently, the little things like web browsers (Note: Not the web pages, the actual browser itself.) and office applications loading near instantly do make a positive difference in the experience.

You'll never go back to installing Windows on a Hard Drive ever again.

well, no.

Either if I launch Rise of the Tomb Raider (read: heck of an heavy game) from the external 3.0 1 TB Hard drive or the internal 512 GB PCIe SSD (read: two different planets of speed) there are no FPS gains. Just loading time.

For gaming you just can get away with a SATA hard disk and call it a day. Eventually, if playing something that for some reason keeps stressing the drive, an SSD might yield to better average FPS. Yet again, not worth the price.

HAHA in retrospect even I know I was wrong. I was thinking load times originally as FPS does not make a lot of sense, but apparently I decided FPS was the response...
Thanks for the correction @Mantayd17

For me at least I would want the faster load times. I think it would be worth it.
