X Files created X-COM?

Do you think X-COM was inspired by The X-Files? I've been watching the show (1990s Not crap new one (sorryformyopinion)) I've been looking through old text from ancient internet times on servers people don't know are still draining their money from their wallets and I found a guy who may be crazy saying X-COM ripped off the X-Files so even though the post was from 1996 I replied saying some other stuff which I'm going to leave out from this paragraph... Thanks for your reply.

I have a problem with people. The only things I like are 787Bs and PCs.
